GE15: PAS to use own logo in the states it leads

PAS will use its own logo when contesting in the 15th general election (GE15) in the three states it currently leads - Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah.

According to PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, the party might use the Perikatan Nasional (PN) logo when contesting in other states.

“We have decided to use the PAS logo when contesting in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah.

“In the other states, we will most probably use the PN logo; it has been decided and will be brought to the attention of PN’s leadership,” HarakahDaily quoted Tuan Ibrahim (above) saying.

Previously, there have been suggestions for PN to use the PAS logo in GE15. This is because the ‘moon’ logo of PAS is better known than the comparatively newer PN logo, PAS leaders have said.

In fact, the party's central election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor also said PAS members are “allergic” to the colour blue, which reminds them of Umno/BN.

For the record, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang yesterday announced the party will strengthen cooperation within PN to face the looming general election.

In the interview, Tuan Ibrahim also commented on PAS’ decision to not dissolve the legislative assemblies of the three states it leads.

While acknowledging that having separate state and federal polls would increase election costs, the incumbent Kubang Kerian MP said, however, PAS should not be faulted in the matter.

“It is their (BN’s) fault. Who asked them to dissolve (the Parliament) during flood season? It will trouble the rakyat,” he said.

According to him, PAS will dissolve its state legislative assemblies after the threat of floods has passed.

“We did not dissolve as we did not want to incur the people’s wrath.

“PAS is confident that we have eight more months, until May 2023, and in that eight months, we can do a lot of things, and we don’t have to rush it.”
