Authors trace Jho Low to new British Virgin Islands firm based in Shanghai

Two book authors and experts on Low Taek Jho (Jho Low) claimed that the fugitive businessperson has set up a new business and remains untouchable.

According to Bradley Hope and Tom Wright in their latest YouTube video today, Low (above) may have incorporated a new company in the British Virgin Islands.

They said document trails showed that JinWeiJing Business Consulting, an entity known to be Low’s family's holding company, had changed its name to GuiYue Business Consulting and its ownership recently transferred to a BVI entity called Grace Zenith Limited.

GuiYue has a business address at the Shanghai World Financial Centre - a glitzy skyscraper that is half a kilometre in height and is known as an iconic business centre in China.

The new owner, Grace Zenith, has a subscribed capital contribution of US$333 million (RM1.5 billion) in GuiYue, and the authors suspect the money had originated from 1MDB.

"So what we found is that not only this company has recently changed its name itself, Jinweijing is now called Guiyue Business Consulting.

"They changed ownership, Low and Seet (Li Lin) had their names removed. The ownership changed to a British Virgin Islands company called Grace Zenith Limited.

"That immediately set bells ringing in our mind, because we know how Low loves British Virgin Islands companies," Hope said.

Hope and Wright, who both authored the “Billion Dollar Whale” book on Low, have been actively and openly pursuing the businessperson, attempting to locate his whereabouts under an initiative called “Project Brazen”.

Elaborating further, Hope said checks revealed that Grace Zenith had paid US$333 million (RM1.5 billion) to take over GuiYue, which he claimed was something "very rare".

"This suggests to us that this is one of the major places Low has money that originates from 1MDB.”

The authors found that Grace Zenith also owned more companies and they are looking at the possibility of finding more entities where Low is using to park 1MDB money.

Meanwhile, Wright described their latest finding as a "major prong" in their investigation works, which showed how Low was allegedly allowed to operate freely in China.

"Last week, we reported that a very good source in China told us that Low is able to move around unimpeded basically there and this is more evidence of that, right?

"Because he is supposedly able to just go into this financial centre in Shanghai and have an office there," he said.

They have also sent an email to an address listed in the public documents connected to Grace Zenith, hoping to be able to connect to Low.
