PAS aims to win at least 40 of the over 60 parliamentary seats the party will be contesting in the 15th general election (GE15), said its president Abdul Hadi Awang.

“We are working hard to win 40 seats and, if possible, we want to win more,” he told reporters at an opening ceremony for the Arau Perikatan Nasional (PN) operations room in Perlis last night.

He expressed confidence that PAS can maintain its parliamentary seats in the three states under the party’s administration - Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.

The party also has the potential to win some seats in Pahang and Perlis, he added.

Hadi, who is also the PN deputy chairperson, said the coalition has finalised its candidates for GE15 and their names will be announced by PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yasin.

In GE14, PAS won 18 parliamentary seats. There are a total of 222 seats in GE15.
