GE15 | Voting in 11 polling stations in the Baram parliamentary constituency has been suspended after poor weather stopped election staff from reaching the stations.
“The new date and location for voting for affected streams and polling stations will be announced when the situation is safer for election workers and voters,” the Election Commission chairperson Abdul Ghani Salleh said.

He said poor weather prevented electoral staff from accessing the polling stations in rural Sarawak by air, land, and water.

Earlier, Utusan Borneo reported that 115 EC workers could not reach 24 polling stations in Baram as of 7pm last night.
Baram is located 70.5km inland from Miri.
It was reported that four polling stations in Baram were flooded but voting continued, with voters forced to wade through floodwaters.

In the last elections, SPDP Anyi Ngau won the seat by 1,990 votes against PKR's Roland Engan.
SPDP is part of the state’s ruling Gabungan Parti Sarawak coalition.
Anyi and Roland are contesting again in this election alongside independent candidate Wilfred Entika.
With polling in Baram suspended, the number of seats contested is 220 and any coalition that can win 111 seats can form a government.
