Covid-19 (Jan 25): 132 new cases, 1 death

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 132 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 5,035,205.

Active cases currently stood at 9,783, down 12.1 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (33)
Kuala Lumpur (21)
Malacca (13)
Sarawak (13)
Negeri Sembilan (10)
Kedah (7)
Sabah (7)
Penang (6)
Johor (5)
Putrajaya (5)
Kelantan (4)
Perak (4)
Perlis (2)
Pahang (1)
Terengganu (1)
Labuan (0)

Another death attributed to Covid-19 was reported yesterday, in Selangor.

Over the past week, an average of 1.4 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.3, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,933 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 370 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 11 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Sabah (41) followed by Selangor (39) and Kedah (13).
