Boy, 15, beaten up for 'not respecting' seniors

A 15-year-old was beaten up by a group of Form Five students at the motocross track in Bukit Mar Mar, Kemensah in Ampang, Selangor for “not respecting” the latter.

Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohd Farouk Eshak said cops received a report yesterday on the incident which happened on Monday.

“About 9.30am on May 8, when the victim was standing at the staircase of SMK Taman Melawati, he was punched on the chest, choked, and kicked on his back by a Form Five student who he knew.

“The victim was then threatened with bodily harm if he did not turn up at Bukit Mar Mar, and when he reached there, he was attacked,” Mohd Farouk said in a statement today.

Initial investigations revealed the attackers set upon the boy after claiming he did not “respect them” as seniors.

Videos of the attack, which are circulating on social media, show the victim curled up in a fetal position on the ground, as an attacker rains punches on his head.

Police said at least 15 teenagers were believed to be involved in the attack.

According to Mohd Farouk, the victim sustained injuries and bruises on his forehead, head, left brow, jaw, and neck.

The district police chief said all suspects have been called up for questioning under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

“If convicted, they could be jailed up to a year or fined RM2,000, or both.

“The police would like to advise and warn the public against voluntarily causing hurt to others,” he was quoted saying.
