The results for several top posts in PKR will only be announced tomorrow (Sunday).

It was previously expected that the results would be made later today (Saturday) after voting was done earlier in the day.

However a delay in vote count meant that official results could only be announced on Sunday, which is the final day of the party's congress.

What is known is that after today's dramatic events , Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was returned unopposed to retain her seat as the party president.

Two other candidates - Anwar Ibrahim and Abdul Rahman Othman - both unexpectedly pulled out from the race at the eleventh hour.

Dr Syed Husin Ali also won the deputy president's post uncontested.

Early counts indicate that incumbents Azmin Ali, Dr Lee Boon Chye and Mustaffa Kamil Ayub had been voted in as the three vice presidents.

It was learned that Dr Xavier Jayakumar and Fuziah Salleh was returned fourth and fifth respectively.

Earlier another contestant, Sabah PKR deputy chief Dr Jeffery Kitingan withdrew from the contest for the vice-presidency.

A total of 1,009 delegates from 1,775 attended the meeting and took part in voting today.
