YSM: So now that Eric Chia is acquitted, I am not surprised if he is also acquitted after the appeal. I am only surprised it has taken so long. The question on the rakyat's mind is how then did the billions of ringgit disappear? Who is responsible for the humongous loss?

The truth is that we as a nation are no better off than we were four years ago when PM Abdullah assumed power. Some may even say we are now worse off as businesses are struggling and the rakyat are fighting to make ends meet.

We were hoping for some sense of justice when PM Abdullah came into power. We were hoping that all the allegations of corruption, squandering, graft and abuse would be investigated and individuals brought to justice.

There was even a hint that there was to be more prosecutions and we would see more 'big fish' individuals brought to justice. We were even hoping to see the previous cabinet ministers investigated. However, all that never happened.

Yee: Its not scandalous, it was and is a sandiwara. It was never meant to end in a prosecution and if anyone thought for a moment that one of Mahathir's chosen men would be prosecuted for the humongous loss of Pewaja, he or she was born only yesterday. From the start PM Abdullah has failed to set himself apart from the abuse and excesses of the former administration by not bringing to justice all those who have raped and robbed the country's coffers.

Nothing drastic is going to happen and there will be no cleanup of graft and corruption. As far as Malaysia goes, its 'que sera sera', what ever will be will be.

On Gov't lacks facts in slamming Rommel

Bai Yuen Sheng: This NEP issue is really, really bothering me. I think its time that we buried this once and for all, ie, hopefully in my lifetime. I don't want the next generation pondering on this so called 'affirmative' policy all over again. No matter how you spin it, these are discriminatory policies that should not have been there in the first place.

As for assumptions regarding if this policy had not been there, we will never know will we? Besides, knowing that we are god-fearing people, I don't see if the 'quota policy' stated in any of the religious books - then again I could be wrong. And if it is not stated, then isn't it wrong? Knowing this, maybe we could do things differently.

These issues have been brought up by many local, daring non-Malaysians previously but fell on deaf ears. Mr Rommel, you are absolutely right in voicing out on this.

On Sibu police: Media barred on Bukit Aman order

Anonymous: I am surprised to see that Sibu Police Chief ACP Nicholas Sebastian said Sibu reporters sit in the police station 24 hours doing nothing. I think everyone knows that this is a lie. Does he mean that reporters do not need to write news? Reporters also sleep at the police station? If so, I think I should salute them for their spirit.

The IGP has clarified that Bukit Aman never issued a directive to bar the reporters. He also said reporters should know the real situation. The IGP is very fair. What he meant is that the police have nothing to hide. The public have a right to know what is going on also.

I wish the Sibu police chief learns from the IGP. Work Mesra, Cepat dan Betul.

On Indian M'sians 'planned' to be forgotten by 9MP

Veloo: I totally agree. Indian Malaysians are planned to be forgotten. Yes 100% true, there are two ways about it. Any media wanting to remind of the promises made by the leaders during their election campaigns, do not have the guts to do so knowing the consequences. Be it ninth or tenth Malaysia Plan, Indians will continued to be marginalised. In time to come, the Indians' existence in this country may not be felt and go unnoticed.
