Cops disperse PN flash mob

6pm: Kampung Nenas, Sungai Kechil - Police have dispersed a group of Perikatan Nasional campaign workers who organised a flash mob as they do not have a permit for the gathering.

About 20 individuals carrying PN banners and flags took part in the flash mob at 5.30pm, before police advised them to stop, Malaysiakini observes.

The group decides to comply and disbanded without incident at 6.15pm.

Data show Harapan has edge over PN - Shamsul

1pm: Sungai Bakap, Nibong Tebal - The survey conducted by Darul Ehsan Institute (IDE) reflects Pakatan Harapan’s optimism of wresting the Sungai Bakap seat from Perikatan Nasional, says political secretary to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin.

Shamsul’s remark comes after the IDE revealed its study for the by-election, saying that the ruling coalition has an edge over its rival.

“Our confidence is based on this data, including joint surveys with the people and what has been carried out throughout the campaign,” he tells the media in a press conference today.

PN narrative not significant in Sg Bakap polls

12.30pm: Sungai Bakap, Nibong Tebal - PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail says that the “Green Wave” factor is not a significant narrative in the Sungai Bakap by-election campaign.

In a press conference today, Saifuddin says the narrative has subsided after Perikatan Nasional suffered a series of defeats in the last few by-elections.

“This narrative creates hope that if PN wins any election, there will be a change in the federal or state government.”
