Annuar pans BN’s alleged use of govt facility
6pm: Gua Musang - Perikatan Nasional operations director for the Nenggiri by-election Annuar Musa cries foul over the alleged use of government-owned premises for BN’s election operations.
On his Facebook account, he posts photos showing a building bedecked with BN flags and banners.

The signage - which features the Orang Asli Development Department (Jakoa) logo - says the building is Dewan Teratai in the Orang Asli settlement of Pos Tohoi, Gua Musang.
Annuar says government assets and officers should be used as bases of operations for political parties.
“Government officers dislike being forced to follow orders of certain party leaders. Stop this unhealthy practice,” he says.
Low risk of floods, fires in Nenggiri polling, tallying centres
4.30pm: Marang - All locations of vote tallying and polling centres in the Nenggiri state by-election in Gua Musang, Kelantan, are at low risk of any untoward incident involving fire and floods.
Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department director-general Nor Hisham Mohammad says his department has inspected the locations involved.
“We also collaborated with the Election Commission to ensure that the security teams and election workers at the centres would know how to use basic tools to prevent fires such as fire extinguishers.
“On the risk of floods, Nenggiri is located in the upstream area of the river. So, the possibility of flooding is low because of the high ground and the strong current of the river,” Nor Hisham says.
Easier to develop K’tan if BN in charge, says Bung
2.30pm: Gua Musang - Development in Kelantan, particularly in Nenggiri, is hard to implement if the state government continues to be led by PAS, says Umno supreme council member Bung Moktar Radin.
This, according to him, is because the state government has powers to control land-related issues, and this complicates efforts by the federal government to bring about development in the state.
“The federal government faces issues with carrying out development in Kelantan, as the state administration is led by PAS.
“The change in the state’s political scenario must start from Nenggiri. When we (BN) win, only then we can strategise Kelantan as a whole,” Bung said on the campaign trail while accompanying the coalition’s candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Ghani in Jeram Tekoh, Gua Musang, today.

Bung also tells Azmawi to carry out his duty diligently, should he be elected on Aug 17.
“Solve the people’s issues. If all BN representatives did this, BN will never lose in any election.”
BN manifesto to address local economy, housing plans
12.30pm: BN candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani says the BN manifesto for the Nenggiri by-election is in its final stage of drafting and will be announced soon.
Bernama reported him as saying that among the things emphasised in the manifesto are matters related to human capital, the local economy and housing for the youth.
“I already have the draft, but I have to wait for two or three more things to be included,” he said at the Kelantan State Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) plantation in Sungai Terah today.
Azmawi (above), better known as Awie, said he would use his experience in the political arena to win the hearts of Nenggiri voters.
“If I am elected, I will be the bridge for the people of Nenggiri to voice out their problems to the federal government,” he said.
Rembia rep takes jab at Azizi
11.30am: Rembia assemblyperson Muhammad Jailani Khamis who joined PAS while on suspension from Umno has advised Nenggiri voters not to vote for candidates who "migrate" to other parties for allocation.
He’s referring to the former Bersatu member and incumbent for the state seat Mohd Azizi Abu Naim, who voiced support for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Azizi is also Gua Musang MP.

Jailani first won the Rembia seat on a PKR ticket during the 14th general election in 2018, and two years later defected to BN along with three others from Pakatan Harapan to form the new state government.
On July 16, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan announced that Jailani joined the party in June last year.
"Don't choose a candidate like the former Nenggiri representative who 'migrated' for allocation, which involves money.
"Maybe he (Azizi) found it hard to remain in the opposition that he switched sides for money," Berita Harian quotes Jailani as saying during a ceramah in Serian, Gua Musang, last night.
'I chose to retire early'
Perikatan Nasional candidate Mohd Rizwadi Ismail has denied quitting the Royal Malaysian Navy after committing an offence.
He says he had always intended to retire early.

"After completing my Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, I joined the navy in 2003. In my 13 years of service, I was posted in Sabah, Lumut in Perak, and the last, in Pahang.
"When I was in Pahang, I decided to retire early, and I officially stopped my active service in January 2015," Harian Metro quotes Rizwadi as saying during a ceramah in Gua Musang, last night.
"However, on TikTok, some claim I quit early because I did something wrong. It's alright, it's them (accusers) who are sinned, while I get pahala (rewards)."
According to Rizwadi further, he got involved in preaching duties after returning home to Bertam Lama and is now the manager of a preaching centre in Gua Musang.
