The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) denied there was another sinkhole incident in the city area after a photo alleging that a sinkhole had appeared in Kampung Attap went viral on social media.

In a statement, DBKL said the photo was an old one and repair works have already been carried out on the affected road located near Jalan Dewan Bahasa.

"Members of the public are advised not to share unverified news as it can cause public alarm," it said in the statement posted on Facebook.

DBKL, however, did not state further details, including when the old incident occurred.

Earlier today, a news portal called Suara TV posted a photo on its Facebook page, saying there was a sinkhole incident at Jalan Choo Cheng Khay in Kampung Attap.

The portal has since published a new Facebook post carrying DBKL clarification.

Last Friday, a tourist from India disappeared after she fell into a sinkhole at Jalan Masjid India.

Another sinkhole was later detected some 50m from the first one.
