DAP branches urged to follow Perak's lead in starting funds for members, their kids

Negeri Sembilan DAP will follow the Perak chapter in establishing two funds - one for its members and another for members’ children who intend to pursue tertiary studies.

State DAP chief Anthony Loke praised the initiative, saying that the Perak branch had set an example other states should follow.

“But with Negeri Sembilan DAP, I will be more ‘action’ (cocky).

“If you give RM1,000, then I will give RM1,500,” he jokingly told the Perak DAP convention today.

He singled out Malacca party chairperson Khoo Poay Tiong, who was present, to implement the initiative.

Loke said since DAP is in a strong financial position, the party must channel this to its members.

The party secretary-general also spoke on ensuring that younger members carry on DAP’s legacy.

“What is important is that we want to ensure continuity in the party’s leadership.

“We want to ensure that when someone who has spent a long time in service hands over power, the party is in a strong and stable position, and the new leadership can continue the party’s excellence,” Loke added.
