Agong calls for speedy probe into child exploitation case

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has urged the police to speed up the investigation into the child exploitation case involving welfare homes purportedly run by Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holding (GISBH).

Sultan Ibrahim viewed the matter seriously after the media reported the case.

“I want a thorough investigation and action to be taken soon,” His Majesty said in a statement issued by the Royal Press Office on its Facebook.

On Sept 11, the police raided 20 welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan where they were allegedly taught to sodomise each other.

The police also arrested 171 people in the operation.

Following denials, GISBH CEO Nasiruddin Ali acknowledged that isolated incidents of sodomy had occurred within the organisation in the past.

He said these cases were addressed internally as GISBH recognised that they constituted a legal offence.

However, he did not elaborate further on the details of the said sodomy cases.

Handle case properly

Earlier today, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain announced that 96 accounts linked to the company had been frozen to facilitate investigations.

Sultan Ibrahim decreed that when it comes to matters of faith, it should not be taken lightly and preserved at all times.

“As such, I advise all quarters not to issue extreme statements or views as it is a sensitive matter which must be dealt with care,” the Agong added.
