Authorities have rescued various animals from Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH)-owned premises in Bandar Country Homes in Rawang, Selangor.
Police and the Malaysia Animal Association (MAA) rescued 26 animals, including horses and ponies, as well as peacocks and rabbits, on Saturday evening in a joint operation.
“The rabbits, peacocks and horses were neglected since the establishment was vacated (by GISBH members) late last week.
“The rabbits and peacocks are now under the care of the Malaysia Animal Gallery (animal shelter) while the horses and ponies have been handed to Bukit Aman’s Equestrian Police Unit,” MAA president Arie Dwi Andika wrote on Facebook.
He further urged enforcement authorities to take into account the lives of animals when seizing and sealing off properties involved in any investigation.
“They (authorities) should place officers who can feed the animals during and after the proceedings.
“Or else, the authorities can rope in NGOs to take care of the animals until legal proceedings are completed,” Arie said.
All-out crackdown
Police have arrested hundreds from raids at GISBH-linked premises nationwide, since last week, and several suspects have been charged.
In addition, hundreds of victims have been rescued in the operation dubbed Ops Global.

During the raids, authorities seized pamphlets containing elements believed to contradict Islamic teachings, as well as superstitious items.
Business premises linked to the movement affiliated with the banned Al-Arqam deviant sect have also since been sealed off.

It all began on Sept 11 when the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department raided 20 charity homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan associated with GISBH and rescued 402 children aged between one and 17.
