Malacca MCA State Exco member Koh Nai Kwong lodged a police report against DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today.

Koh alleged that Lim had defamed him in various statements he issued to the Chinese media over the controversial pig issue. He urged the authorities to take action.

Accompanying Koh to the police station in Malacca this afternoon were another Malacca MCA State Exco member Seah Kwi Tong and several party leaders.

Contacted by Malaysiakini, Koh ( left) said that the police report was made because he felt that Lim had gone overboard with his statements and his, Seah's and MCA's reputation have been tarnished.

He also claimed that Lim had malicious intentions when he [Lim] accused Koh and Malacca MCA of disregarding the opinions of the pig farmers and that they did not consult them when negotiating with the state government on the deadline issue.

Suing too?

Koh also said that he was looking into the possibility of dragging Lim to the courts.

"I am considering suing Lim Guan Eng ( right), We will seek advice from our party's legal bureau to see whether we can take action," Koh said.

Contacted later, Lim said he welcomed Koh's move to sue him.

"I challenge Koh to sue me. I am always ready to face him," he said

"Since Koh had said publicly that he wants to sue me, he must go all the way. Don't fall back because the last time he made such a threat, it came to nought," said the DAP leader.

Asked about Koh's accusation that he had made false allegations against him [Koh], Lim asked the MCA leaders to show evidence that he had done so.
