Pitas rep urges police to probe corruption claims against him

Pitas assemblyperson Ruddy Awah has urged the police to investigate allegations that he and two other Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) assemblypersons are involved in corruption and breach of trust over land issues.

According to the Daily Express, Ruddy also lodged an MACC report over the allegations by two TikTok account owners which also implicated Sugut assemblyperson James Ratib and Nabawan assemblyperson Abdul Ghani Yassin.

“Pitas Community Development leader Ramlah Nasir, along with Pitas district chief OKK Halim Kadir lodged the police report in Kota Kinabalu on Dec 3 (Tuesday),” said Ruddy (above) during a press conference at his office at Karamunsing Complex today.

The state rural development minister urged the police to identify the two TikTok account owners so that he can take legal action.

“In my case, there was no viral video like what has been happening to some ministers,” he said, alluding to the whistleblower expose scandal that named seven Sabah assemblypersons and Chief Minister Hajiji Noor.

“So, there is no way to link three of us with such scandal,” said Ruddy.

The GRS supreme council member also claimed some quarters are deliberately targeting the coalition leaders who are likely to retain their seats in the next Sabah election.

“If you (opposition) want to compete, strengthen your respective election machinery in the areas you contest.

“Let’s compete and meet in a healthy competition and let the people decide,” he said.
