Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng said if PAS is truly serious about this issue, the Islamist party should clarify whether it also intends to ban official non-Muslim festivities, including Deepavali, Chinese New Year, Kaamatan and Gawai, which government agencies also organise celebrations for.
“If so, they should boldly declare this stance before the 16th general election.
“Do not merely act bold behind the scenes but hesitate to reveal your true position in front of the public,” Lim said in a statement.
The DAP lawmaker urged PAS leaders to understand and embrace the principle of religious freedom for non-Muslims as enshrined in Articles 3 and 11 of the Federal Constitution, describing it as fundamental to Malaysia’s multicultural harmony.
‘Ultra-hypocritical bully’
Lim also highlighted that Perikatan Nasional chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin once labelled PAS as “Parti Ajaran Sesat” (Party of Deviant Teachings), yet the Islamist party did not respond emotionally to the statement.
“In fact, many Malay ministers in the past attended Christmas celebrations without PAS raising any issues or accusing them of overstepping boundaries.
“However, now, when Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming organised a Christmas celebration and criticised PAS as being deviant, the entire PAS machinery has suddenly mobilised to lodge police reports,” Lim noted.
He said this situation clearly exposes PAS as “ultra-hypocritical and a bully.”
“Why does its standard change depending on who makes a statement or takes action?”
Lim urged PAS to adopt a more inclusive approach to uniting Malaysians, regardless of race or religion.
“Focus your efforts on boosting the nation’s economic growth, rather than sowing division,” he added.

A good question for the PAS fanatics to answer. But they wont and instead they will hide their faces under their sarongs. Ridiculous and complete stupidity to say the least.
