Amanah Youth has dared its PAS counterpart to accept its dialogue call or risk getting a flower pot placed at their designated seat.

“Whether they accept our invite or not, the dialogue will proceed as planned.

“If PAS Youth doesn’t send a representative, we will place a flower pot (on their designated seat),” Amanah Youth secretariat member Nash Nahar said in a statement today.

Nash (above) said the dialogue session was arranged to address all the allegations levelled by PAS against Amanah.

The Amanah leader also said his team had sent an invite to PAS Youth six days ago but received no reply.

“And the day before yesterday, we even sent a letter personally to the PAS headquarters in Jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur,” he added.

According to the invite, Amanah Youth had proposed to hold the dialogue in Cyberjaya – either on Feb 18 or 19.

Answering accusations

Elaborating, Nash said PAS has accused Amanah of many things, including calling the party hypocritical (munafik), a DAP stooge and even against Islam.

“And this doesn’t include labelling other Muslims as infidels.

“As young leaders who will lead the nation in the future, PAS Youth should not be aping the old ways of doing politics.

“So, let’s have a dialogue with an open heart and maturity,” Nash added.

Meanwhile, PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden hinted that he would not accept the invitation.

He even claimed that Amanah Youth was holding the dialogue to ride on the Islamist party’s popularity.

“Better for them to have a dialogue with DAP on how to respect Islam rather than riding on our popularity,” he told Malaysiakini.
