Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today consented to the appointment of Senator Salehuddin Saidin as the new Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) chairperson, effective March 1.

The Selangor Royal Office, in a statement, said that Salehuddin is replacing Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, who requested to step down due to health reasons.
