Muslims in Malaysia to begin fasting on Sunday

The Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, said Muslims in Malaysia will begin fasting on Sunday, March 2.
He said the date for states throughout Malaysia was set according to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s order, and after the rulers gave consent.
The announcement was broadcast live on RTM tonight.
It was previously reported that the sighting of the new moon, which marks the start of Ramadan, would be conducted this evening.
The sighting was done by various committees at 29 locations nationwide.
