Terengganu PAS Non-Muslim Supporters' Wing (DHPP) said those who put up posters against state party leader Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar must come from outside of the party.
This is because those within PAS would never stoop to such “dirty tactics”, said Terengganu DHPP chief Balachandran Gopal Krishnan in a statement.
"PAS as an Islamic movement has always been based on the teachings of the Quran and sunnah.
"PAS members and leaders will not engage in such dirty tactics, because our struggle is based on the principles of justice and truth.
"Therefore, it is clear that such actions come from outside parties who are trying to create a bad perception of the state and party leadership," he said.
Balachandran (above) is one of Samsuri's special officers.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man told Free Malaysia Today on Monday that the party's central and state leadership had no issues with the Terengganu menteri besar.

He denounced the posters as a “cheap shot” at PAS after the party's successful administration of the state.
Proper channels
Commenting further, Balachandran said criticism of Samsuri must be done correctly.
"If there are parties who feel threatened, that is normal in politics.
"However, if you really want to compete, prove it with better performance and ideas - not with cheap tactics such as emotional banners without a solid foundation," he said.
Balachandran added that the act of hanging a banner with a provocative message signals only an inability to argue intellectually.
He called for dissatisfaction to be voiced through the proper channels while being based on facts.
