Kedah PKR Youth polls cancelled, fresh voting tomorrow

Voting for the PKR Youth divisional elections across Kedah today has been cancelled and will be conducted again tomorrow from 8am to 5pm.

The Party Election Committee through a statement on Facebook today announced that the decision was made after an emergency meeting held today.

“All PKR Youth and young women members aged 35 and below are requested to vote again for the PKR Youth divisional level (Kedah),” it said.

In addition, the committee announced that the election period for the PKR division and PKR Women levels in the state today has been extended from 5pm to 8pm.

“PKR Youth and young women members aged 35 and below are reminded that they (also) need to vote for the division and Women levels today before 8pm,” it said.

The committee previously announced that 296,403 members were eligible to vote in the online party election based on blockchain technology and physically involving 16,878 candidates who had been confirmed to be contesting for various positions at 222 divisions.

The election dates for positions at the Women and Youth division levels have been set from today until April 20 in stages by state, with Kedah PKR becoming the first state to hold party election today.

The elections for the positions of the Central Leadership Council, Central Women Leadership Council, and Central Youth Leadership Council of the party will be held on May 24.
