Alleged kidnappers nabbed, one killed days after netting RM280k ransom
Police this morning shot dead a man whom they suspect was responsible for the kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl in Seremban last week.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department deputy director Fadil Marsus said they also arrested several other suspected kidnappers in a series of raids following the shootout in Bukit Tinggi, Klang.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department deputy director Fadil Marsus said they also arrested several other suspected kidnappers in a series of raids following the shootout in Bukit Tinggi, Klang, Selangor.
The kidnappers reportedly demanded a RM2 million ransom after they kidnapped the teen. She was released after the family reportedly paid RM280,000 and gave the kidnappers several items of jewellery.
It was understood that police also managed to recover some of the ransom paid by the victim's family, but Fadil said further details would be released during a press conference by his superiors soon.
About the shootout, he said a police team tried to apprehend the suspect who was driving a Proton Wira in a high-speed chase.
"The suspect drove against the traffic flow to evade arrest before a high-speed chase ensued.
"The chase ended when his car knocked into a police vehicle. It then turned into a shootout before police shot him dead.
"So far, we found a pistol and a machete inside the car. However, further search on the vehicle has yet to be done as we are waiting for the forensics unit," Fadil told reporters at the scene.
According to The Star, Fadil said the suspect was most likely involved in the kidnapping in Seremban and had used the same car to drop off the victim in Sendayan.
He thanked members of the public who supplied information leading to the dismantling of the kidnapping gang.
