PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari says Perikatan Nasional’s door is always open to unhappy PKR members.
Fadhli, who is known for his sarcasm, says he has seen complaints about the recent PKR division polls.
PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said Perikatan Nasional’s door is always open to PKR members who are unhappy with their party.
Commenting on the ongoing PKR division elections, Fadhli, who is known for his sarcasm, said he had seen complaints aired openly on the matter.
“I would like to say that if friends in PKR feel that the situation is bad and cannot be improved anymore, PN’s door is always open... welcome,” the Pasir Mas MP said on Facebook today.
The PKR internal polls saw several of the party’s lawmakers defeated across various states.
Earlier today, the PKR central leadership council called for an urgent meeting to be held on Wednesday (April 23) to discuss alleged irregularities during the party’s ongoing internal polls.
Malaysiakini has learned that this meeting was called at the request of more than 20 central leadership council members.
The divisional polls have been plagued by reports of irregularities, which have seen several factions sweep the committee elections, only to have their faction leader lose the contest for division head.
This led to a strange trend nationwide, dubbed by some as a “body without a head” scenario - where the team wins, but the leader loses.
Prominent examples of such outcomes include Gan Ay Ling in Kangar, Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik in Balik Pulau, Mohd Kamri Kamaruddin in Ampang, Chua Wei Kiat in Selayang, Rodziah Ismail in Shah Alam, and Ginie Lim in Alor Gajah.
Besides that, Chua - the Rawang assemblyperson - and Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung have separately appealed to PKR’s election committee to review the results, citing alleged discrepancies.
In Petaling Jaya, Lee lost to incumbent Hee Loy Sian, a former MP for PJ Selatan, who retained his position as division chief.
In a post on Facebook, Lee said he received many calls and messages questioning the outcome of the election.
Appeals are allowed under the PKR election system. Each petition costs RM100 to file.
