New Straits Times and The Sun led with Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's speech on the five thrusts needed for a successful Malaysia, at the opening of the Umno Wanita, Youth and Puteri annual general assemblies.

Star reported on Umno president and premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's closed-door briefing to party delegates, advising them to tone down the rhetoric in their speeches.
