Not inviting Rafizi, Nik Nazmi, Zafrul, but can team up in Parliament - PN

Perikatan Nasional has no plans to invite Rafizi Ramli, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, or Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz to join the coalition, said its parliamentary whip Takiyuddin Hassan.

However, the PAS secretary-general said PN would not object if the three ministers were to cooperate with the opposition bloc in Parliament.

“So far, PN has no intention to invite them – whether Rafizi, Nik Nazmi, or Zafrul - to join PN.

“However, if they want to be with us in Parliament, that is not a problem. In fact, if they want to join PN, that’s up to them.

“However, they (Rafizi and Nik Nazmi) are subject to the anti-party hopping issue,” he said in Kota Bharu, as quoted by Berita Harian.

Asked to comment on Zafrul’s decision to leave BN and express interest in joining PKR, Takiyuddin questioned the minister’s political stand.

“In PN, we want those who have principles, not those who switch from here to there.

“Previously, we also thought Zafrul wanted to join PN, but that didn’t happen.

“I don’t know what the purpose of leaving BN to join PKR is, perhaps to fill a ministerial vacancy,” said the Kota Bharu MP.

Name alleged defectors

Takiyuddin also challenged claims that 10 opposition MPs had pledged support for the federal government.

He called for those making the allegation to furnish the names of those involved and back it up with proof.

“If true, we want them to list who the 10 MPs are. Proof must be submitted in detail.

“When there are allegations that 10 opposition MPs support the Madani government, that is nothing new in this political climate.

“InsyaAllah, we are confident PN MPs will remain and that no one else will defect,” he added.
