Veteran rocker Amy Search has filed a police report denying allegations that he verbally assaulted songstress Shila Amzah during a concert rehearsal earlier this month.

Shah Alam district police chief Iqbal Ibrahim confirmed receiving the report from Amy, whose real name is Suhaimi Abdul Rahman, and his wife, Norhazniza Hassan.

“Yes, (we received the report) yesterday evening. But it was more of a covering report and denial.

“The report has been referred to the Dang Wangi district police station,” Iqbal told Malaysiakini today.

Earlier, Norhazniza reportedly uploaded a photo of herself, Amy, and three others outside the Shah Alam police station.

The incident came to light last week after Shila alleged a “legendary singer” had berated her during a concert rehearsal on July 10.

Her post on Instagram sparked speculation over the individual’s identity, prompting fellow rock icon Awie to call on Amy to address the matter.

Shila then publicly revealed who she was referring to.

Alleged interference in family affair

According to mStar, police have recorded statements from both Shila and Amy as part of their probe.

Singer Shila Amzah

Shila has denied accusations that she interfered in Amy’s family affairs, which allegedly triggered the “Isabella” singer’s outburst.

The controversy is believed to be linked to Shila’s post on X, where she expressed support for Amy’s daughter, actress Nabila Huda, who had publicly criticised her stepmother.
