About 100 Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) supporters have gathered outside the Selangor police headquarters in Shah Alam where three key leaders of the organisation were detained.

Some 20 police personnel armed with rifles and shields have formed a barricade to prevent any untoward incidents.

The supporters have been ordered to disperse. Initially some of them chose to sit on the middle of the street, disrupting traffic in the area.

The police have arrested Hindraf chairperson P Waythamoorthy, his brother and Hindraf legal adviser Uthayakumar. A third Hindraf member Ganapathy Rao has also been detained.

The trio, who are expected to be charged with sedition, were arrested ahead of a mass rally outside the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur this Sunday.
