PAS revs up with RX-Z at muktamar in attempt to woo youth

PAS MUKTAMAR | The roaring sound of motorcycles filled the main hall at Kedah PAS Complex in Alor Setar this morning as motorcyclists on three Yamaha RX-Z 135 ride in between hundreds of PAS Youth delegates at the 66th muktamar.

Upon reaching the main stage, the bikers parked their motorcycles and took off their helmets before one started polishing his machine using a piece of cloth.

To the amusement of PAS leaders present, including deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azzamudden, a PAS Youth member wearing its Alternative Riding Club white-and-green t-shirt then approached the biker.

They then began a conversation about the country's politics, before the PAS member opened an AI application to ask several questions that led to explanations about the party as a choice for Malaysian youth.

This was part of a skit prepared by the party wing as part of their annual general meeting, to serve as a demonstration on how PAS Youth members should approach the younger generation to join the party.

Earlier, during his policy speech, Afnan urged all PAS Youth members to build rapport with Malaysian youth from all segments and woo their support.

According to the Alor Setar MP, PAS had gained a total of 2.4 votes nationwide in the 15th general election while they only had 900,000 members, which showed that six out 10 PAS voters are not the party members.

"Find youth groups that we have yet to approach, especially from among the 60 percent who have yet to become our party members. The other 40 percent have already become part of us, wearing jubah, kopiah and understanding our policies.

"But the other six out of 10 have not become party members - some of them are wearing jeans, caps, some are busy 'remp' their RX-Z exhaust, while others are busy on the road making a living by delivering food.

"There are also those who are always doing live (on social media) until midnight, some are good in making (online) contents, some are influencers, love singing, hiking, and there are those who are too busy with their work that they did not even have the time to listen to what we are fighting for in the Parliament," he said.
