The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) received 16 emergency calls today for fallen trees across the capital after heavy rain and strong winds.

It said in a statement that the calls, between 3pm and 7pm, came from areas including Jalan Tempinis 3, Jalan Maarof, Jalan Medang Kapas, Jalan Kebun Bunga, Tasik Perdana, Jalan Cenderasari, Taman Rama-Rama, and Jalan Midah Tengah.

“The Kuala Lumpur FRD managed all incidents promptly, and no injuries have been reported so far.

“Fallen trees also struck some vehicles, but the situation was brought under control and clean-up operations were carried out immediately at all affected sites,” read the statement.

It added that the Kuala Lumpur FRD is also delivering aid to affected areas in collaboration with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

“The Kuala Lumpur JBPM will stay on high alert to handle any emergencies as the bad weather is expected to continue in the coming days,” it said.
