Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that the government has approved the installation of high-tech closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems at all Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) detention centres and National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) lockups nationwide.

The prime minister said this initiative is part of the government's efforts to enhance the efficiency of enforcement agencies in safeguarding the security of detainees.
