Mahathir taken to IJN after falling at home

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad was taken to the hospital this morning after he sustained a fall at his residence in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

According to his press secretary, Sufi Yusoff, the incident happened about 9am when Mahathir was "transiting" from the balcony to the living room.

He said the former premier was conscious and was taken to the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur via ambulance.

"Not in a position to say how serious until I get an update from the medical team.

"I'll try to gather more and update later," Sufi told reporters in a WhatsApp group.

Mahathir was last hospitalised at IJN in July last year after experiencing fatigue during a picnic event in Putrajaya, just days after he celebrated his 100th birthday.
