Internal dissent within Bersatu intensified today after 16 lawmakers issued a joint statement calling on party president Muhyiddin Yassin to step down and hand over the leadership to his deputy, Hamzah Zainudin.

They believed that while Muhyiddin (above) has contributed to the party, he no longer has what it takes to keep Bersatu united and lead the party to win elections.
