  • UPDATED 11.10AM | The Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) is reviewing the investigation paper on the fatal shootings of three suspected robbers in Durian Tunggal, Malacca.

    In a statement yesterday, the AGC said the police briefed it on developments in the probe last Friday.

    The AGC assured that any prosecution charges to follow will ensure justice for all.

  • BN has no plans to postpone the Malacca and Johor state elections due to geopolitical developments, said coalition chief Ahmad Zahid Hamid.

    This is in response to Umno supreme council member Ahmad Maslan saying it would not be wise to hold polls soon due to the West Asia conflict’s impact on the cost of living.

    "That (Ahmad’s remark) is not Umno’s stance. That is not BN's stance. It is an individual's personal view, and there is no endorsement from the party. 

    "So in that situation, don't decide to postpone. That would only give others ammunition to turn against us," Zahid was quoted as saying by Bernama at a forum last night.

  • Former Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia has pulled his United Sabah National Organisation (Usno) party out of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition.

    He confirmed the matter with Bernama last night. Earlier, Usno posted on Facebook that it was quitting GRS due to incompatibility with the coalition in aspects of administration and policy.

    During the Sabah state election last year, Pandikar and his wife Diana Diego were the only two Usno candidates fielded by GRS. They both lost.
