• Efforts to track down a suspect believed to be involved in a recent dog abuse case in Seri Kembangan are actively ongoing, the Selangor Veterinary Services Department (Selangor DVS) said.

  The case stems from a 26-second video circulating widely on social media, depicting a man abusing a dog inside a residential property.

  Following public complaints, Selangor DVS animal welfare officers examined a male brown poodle seen in the recording.

  

  A formal investigation has since been launched under Section 29(1)(a) of the Animal Welfare Act 2015 (Act 772). Members of the public with any information are urged to contact the Selangor DVS office or senior investigating officer Shuib Anuar at 013-4321512.

Pig farming

• DAP's national publicity secretary Yeo Bee Yin is publicly rallying behind her party colleague Wong Siew Ki, who faces protests from PAS, after asking the Selangor government to consider adopting a modern pig farming system.

  On Facebook, Yeo recounted meeting the Seri Kembangan assemblyperson at a branch re-election meeting, where she offered words of encouragement and drew on her own experience of handling similar protests.

  

  Yeo also dismissed PAS's actions as politically motivated, accusing the party of routinely inflaming bread-and-butter issues along religious and racial lines to score cheap political points.

  Selangor PAS Youth chief Sukri Omar yesterday announced the said protest outside Wong's service centre, with a memorandum set to be presented at the venue.

• Selangor's PKR Youth wing described Selangor PAS Youth chief Sukri Omar's characterisation of Seri Kembangan assemblyperson Wong Siew Ki's proposal on modern pig farming as mere sentiment politics.

  This comes after Sukri called for strict disciplinary action against Wong, including a 12-month suspension from the Selangor state legislative assembly, over her proposal for the state government to consider adopting a modern pig farming system.

  

  In a statement last night, the wing's communications director Haziq Izwan Husni reminded all parties that the state assembly is the highest legislative body at the state level, and that it is the proper duty of every assemblyperson to raise constituent concerns, whether on infrastructure, welfare, education, or the economy.

  He also pointedly called on Gerakan Youth and MCA Youth to declare their positions on whether they also side with Sukri's stance.
