State elections
Bersih has urged menteris besar and chief ministers to announce the dissolution dates of their state legislatures as early as possible, amid speculation that snap elections could be called in some states.
It said an early announcement would allow more preparation time, especially for outstation voters who may need to make travel arrangements to return to cast their ballots.
“Bersih wishes to remind that logistical challenges and travel costs remain the main barriers for overseas voters to return and vote.
“The absence of clear state assembly dissolution dates will continue to make it difficult for them to plan trips, especially given the current sudden increases in flight and transportation ticket costs due to ongoing global conflicts,” it said.

Electric vehicles
Effective July 1, all new fully imported, completely built-up (CBU) electric vehicles must have a minimum motor power limit of 180 kilowatts and above, from the previous 200kW.
In addition, their minimum value, including cost, insurance, and freight, must be at least RM200,000.
This followed the expiry of a special exemption period for the import of CBU EVs under franchise-approved permits on Dec 31, 2025.
However, the new rules do not apply to existing inventory, which can still be sold under the previous rules.
