  • Mandiri executive director Amir Hadi announced that the NGO has filed a defamation lawsuit at the Kuala Lumpur High Court against PKR Youth chief Kamil Munim.

The lawsuit stems from a public statement made by Kamil in May, in which he alleged that Mandiri received foreign funding for political propaganda, cyber operations, and influencing domestic political narratives.

He also alleged that the funds had links to “political moves” by certain quarters, and that it was used to pay for social media campaigns and mobilise street protests to create a hateful perception and narratives against the government, thereby threatening political stability in the country.

Amir (above) said the statement also implicated him personally, as Mandiri’s executive director, by linking him and several other individuals to seven financial transactions amounting to RM686,729.00.

He said that under the court writ, Kamil must enter an appearance within 14 days of being served, and that failure to do so could lead to further legal action. He added that Mandiri’s lawyers will also serve the writ on Kamil soon.

  • Pakatan Harapan Youth chief Woo Kah Leong expressed scepticism over caretaker Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi’s claims that he was prevented from entering a Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) in Kluang.

In a statement today, the Pasir Bedamar assemblyperson pointed out that the minister in charge of Felda, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, belongs to the same party as Onn

He accused Onn of indiscriminately attacking DAP to the point that the latter had inadvertently attacked his own party.

Yesterday, Onn claimed that he was barred from entering the said area to hand over land title deeds to settlers during the Johor State Felda Settlers’ Day 2026 celebrations last weekend, Berita Harian reported.

As a result, the event, which was originally scheduled to take place at Felda Ulu Belitong in Kluang on June 20 and 21, had to be moved to Dewan Dato Onn in Taman Sri Lambak, the report stated.
