In a written parliamentary reply to Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng on June 25, 2026, the Agriculture and Food Security Ministry revealed that the number of operating pig farms in the country dropped by 22.3 percent, falling from 435 farms in 2024 to 338 in 2025.
