  • Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching shared that MCMC has received 29 reports regarding the Johor state election dated between June 1-9.

They comprise 17 complaints regarding misinformation, nine on racial issues, one on religious issues, one involving the royalty, and one scam.

“We have sent these reports to each platform accordingly for them to take action,” she said, adding that nine offending posts have since been taken down.

She also urged voters to be well-informed and digitally savvy by being aware of misinformation and checking all information that they come across on social media.

Teo was speaking to reporters after she cast her ballot at SJKC Kulai Besar at about 9.30am.
