• Pakatan Harapan chief Anwar Ibrahim has urged all contesting in the state election not to use the ruler crisis as campaign fodder.

  Speaking at the launch of Harapan’s candidate line-up last night, he said this is because the matter is not relevant to the polls.

  “It’s not because I am worried or afraid, but our duty is to protect the monarchy and the Federal Constitution,” he said.

Crime

• Police have sought an Interpol red notice to be issued against self-proclaimed land activist Tamim Dahri Abd Razak, who has been on the run from court charges since earlier this year.

  In a parliamentary written reply yesterday, Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the red notice application and a request for the fugitive’s passport to be revoked were made on June 8.

  

  Responding to a question from DAP MP RSN Rayer, the minister added that Tamim is believed to still be overseas, based on checks with the Immigration Department.
