• Former Umno man Puad Zarkashi reminded his former party that PAS is an “unreliable” partner, claiming the Islamist party always has something up its sleeve.

  The former Rengit lawmaker also noted a third party involved in the “political marriage” between Umno and PAS - Parti Wawasan Negara.

  “The ‘marriage’ between Umno and PAS won’t last long. Besides, there is a third party involved, which is Wawasan (Negara).

  “With PAS holding 43 parliamentary seats and Wawasan Negara having 19, PAS could abandon Umno anytime. This will jeopardise the nation’s stability,” Puad (above) said on Facebook.

Negeri Sembilan polls

• The Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan Media Secretariat decried alleged acts of sabotage involving its campaign paraphernalia in the state.

  Citing examples, the secretariat said one of its flags was torched in Palong yesterday, while flagpoles carrying the coalition flag were vandalised in Chembong.

  

  “We have advised the state constituency election director to lodge a report, even though we do not wish to point fingers at anyone.

  “Harapan would like to urge everyone not to normalise such actions and we hope our party members do not retaliate as it may play into the hands of those who want to cause trouble,” the secretariat said in a statement.

  

World Cup finale

• Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh expressed disappointment over the amount of rubbish left behind by attendees after the Fifa World Cup 2026 finals screening at Dataran Merdeka earlier today.

  While thanking Kuala Lumpur City Hall workers for swiftly cleaning the area, Yeoh said disposing of rubbish properly was a basic civic responsibility and should not be left entirely to public workers.

  

  “The right to receive services does not mean public workers bear all responsibilities. They should not have to clean up the trash we deliberately leave behind,” she said on Facebook today.

  Yeoh added that progress should be measured not only by physical development but also by how Malaysians respect and care for public spaces.
