'Does the PM think we're dumb fools?'
He will regret and pay for this lie about dissolving Parliament. He could have easily said, ‘I will think about it when the right time comes’ or even as simple ‘No comment’.
Sheikh Rizal Housein: Is the PM taking Malaysians for a ride? Does he think we Malaysians are real dumb? The whole world knew he was going to dissolve the Parliament yesterday. However, on Feb 12, when the media interviewed him, he dismissed it and even had the nerve to say that Parliament won’t be dissolved the next day.
Even the Press headlines said Parliament wouldn’t be dissolved on Feb 13. And then, yesterday, Feb 13, he dissolved Parliament. What does he think we Malaysians are, dumb fools? Well, the joke is on him. He will regret and pay for this lie.
He could had easily said, ‘I will think about it when the right time comes’ or even as simple ‘No comment’. Now, in the eyes of all Malaysians, the PM is the biggest liar in Malaysia.
Charity Lee: Day before yesterday, the PM said Parliament wouldn't be dissolved yesterday (the date of his favourite/lucky number, 13). But yesterday, he said Parliament is dissolved. Didn't Pak Lah just lie to our faces?
Of course he knew when it would be dissolved. And of course he knew the King wouldn't object to it. It's exactly this kind of duplicity that makes it hard for anyone to trust the PM regardless of what he may be saying or whether his intentions are good or bad.
Time and time again Malaysians have been let down by his insincere, shoot-himself-in-the-foot statements. At least he's consistent in that!
Raj: In less than 24 hours, the premier went back on his word on dissolving the Malaysian parliament. We Malaysians do not have any issues on his prerogative to decide. However, what matters most to us are his words. For a man of his stature, we expect a little honesty when he speaks out. But sad to say he never seems to realise that every word he speaks would reach 27 million people out there who eventually will find out that the PM lying.
Personally, and I am sure most fellow Malaysians also would agree with me, this portrays him as a man who never keeps his promise. He need not have lied. How to trust a leader who says one thing one day but makes a hundred and eighty degree turn in less than 24 hours? How to trust him with the future of Malaysians? Pak Lah, please tell me as Malaysian why should I trust you and vote for you? I deserve an honest reply from you.
Ludricrous: Our infamous and sleepy Abdullah probably had to be ‘told’ by son-in-law Khairy Jamaluddin (considered as the most powerful man in Malaysia) and Altantunya Najib that he is supposed to announce the dissolution of parliament yesterday. Abdullah just didn't know he had to do it and now comes up with lame excuses for looking as lost as he really is.
If this is not the case, then why didn't Abdullah simply tell the media on Feb 12 that he will make an announcement the next day (yesterday) rather than make an about turn?
YSM: Five possible reasons for the prime minister’s flip-flop statement on the dissolution of Parliament:
1. He is a liar and makes empty promises
2. He is unsure of his plans from day-to-day and makes decisions as and when
3. He was misquoted by the media that is owned by the BN
4. He received sudden inspiration on the night of Feb 12.
5. He received urgent news during the cabinet session which made him change his mind.
Who knows? We will never know the reasons behind all the flip flops, u-turns and knots which our dear prime minister loves making.
Mooshie Mooshie: Are we that dumb or are we that plain forgetful? Forget about the politics.Why must he lie to us again? Just say from the heart that election is near, no need to bluff us - we are grown women and men. Not dummies. We are to vote only, not play poker.
You think we can so easily forget about your last bluff? Remember, you said you don't know that your son Kamaluddin (or what ever his name is) on the issue that his proxy companies were given all the big, big big petroleum contracts. Remember you said you ‘don't know’ and you need to find out? That’s lame man!

On Anwar says early election 'shameful'
JKS: The general election must be held within 60 days of parliamentary dissolution. What is 60 days from Feb 13? It is April 13! That is, two days before Anwar Ibrahim can contest in a general election
It is obvious that Parliament was dissolved yesterday so that the EC would not risk being pressured by the public into setting polling day after April 15.
All Malaysians must be made aware of this BN cowardice and unfairness so that they become disgusted with BN's unfree and unfair election tactics and so that they vote to deny BN a two-thirds majority.
CH Ong: Anwar alleges that Malaysian general elections are not fair and not free. However such allegations (which in my opinion are justified) are not new. BN has been practising unfair tactics even during the time Anwar was both BN and Umno's No. 2.
Therefore Anwar will be more convincing if he describes in some detail BN and Umno's modus operandi in committing unfair practices and perhaps even electoral fraud during his heyday at Umno.
I believe most Malaysians who are non-BN members or supporters will forgive him if he also says that he now regrets being part of all those alleged unfair and fraudulent practices. I believe all of us know and remember that Anwar was once Umno and BN's No. 2, and that he had, on occasions, acted as the No. 1.

Rama Chandran: Some of us knew all along that Mahathir and the system he built was corrupt, and he engineered the justice system to be biased towards the BN agenda. But did you other people out there listen to us? No.
Since you will never listen to civil society who all along had nothing to gain from voicing out all the wrongs in this country, at least listen to Mahathir now. Never mind if I think he has a hidden agenda. Just trust him and think before you vote BN. Think really hard.

Malaise-an: If the powers-that-be can clown and mess around with our judicial system with impunity and get away scot-free, if top leaders can unashamedly tell blatant lies and heap praises on themselves but cannot account for their speedy accumulation of wealth, if leaders continue to violate our dignity and insult our intelligence, if the ‘sounds like me and looks like me’ types are in cohorts with top leaders that ‘easily forget’ and if all these blatant abuses of power, corruption and dishonourable behavior continue to hurt and harm us, is it any wonder that the lesser mortals have no more regard for law and order, the young hearts turn around and spite at the moral values so conveniently preached by these powerful hypocrites, and teachers in schools find it near impossible to teach universal and humanitarian values in schools?
Remember the slogan Kepimpinan melalui tauladan ? We are seeing its effect on our society today. When I was overseas doing my further studies I always come to the defence of our beloved country even though I may not be agreeable to all the nation's policies. Today I have given up and must accept my scholarly overseas peers' assessment of our country with a derogatory ‘Malaise-ea’ instead of Malaysia.
K Jeevan: I would like to ask Pak Lah what actually he has done for the past four years as prime Minister on corruption. I can say that you failed because the ACA (which stands for Anti- Corruption agency) now has a new name - CA and that stands for Corruption Agency. GN Jayanthi openly stated that an officer from ACA paid her RM 3,000. What a shame. Pak Lah stated that candidates from BN component parties for the coming election will have to undergo ACA screening. Stop this nonsense. I remember that last year Samy Vellu claimed that after three months of interrogation by the ACA, he was found to be ‘clean’.
The trust bestowed on the ACA by the rakyat has been totally wasted. I hope the rakyat will vote carefully in the coming election because a change is needed in the Malaysian government.

As a leader, he should have pointed out this issue earlier. Why only after Hindraf? Why has he never defended the five Indians under the ISA? Samy Vellu has cheated the Indians. He doesn’t like to see the Indians come up.
It is shameful to have this kind of leader..BN going to lose Indian votes because of one unwanted leader.
Noor: I agree with the above article regarding extending the LRT to Lembah Subang Depot from Kelana Jaya. That area leading through the Subang underpass out to Taman Mayang Mas is constantly jammed with heavy traffic coming through from the low cost flats at Lembah Subang, the Crimson and Diamon condominiums, the NZX shopping centre and the developing township of Ara Damansara. Having a LRT station there will help to alleviate the traffic congestion.
Why spend millions of hard-earned taxpayers money laying new LRT tracks when we can make use of existing ones? Upgrading the Kommuter, using the depot at Lembah Subang and revamping the KL Rapid transit system and bus lanes sounds so sensible and is cost-effective. It is also environment-friendly and there’s no need to bulldoze through residential areas or lay new tracks over the already congested roads.
The federal and Selangor government or whichever government body is in charge of this matter should seriously start to get this thing moving. The rakyat are suffering. We pay taxes for a better way of life.
