  • The MACC today confirmed it received information regarding concerns over the quality of oil palm seedlings and the implementation of oil palm development and replanting programmes at Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) Palong 7, Raja Alias Region, in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan.

Berita Harian cited the agency, saying that it received the information from Pertubuhan Badan Bertindak Generasi Palong chairperson Syahrizal Yusuf.

This is reportedly the first complaint after Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s call for every weakness and problem in Felda’s management to be fully addressed.

  • Hong Kong actor Mat Yeung’s roast meat restaurant in Petaling Jaya has been ordered to temporarily halt operations by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), only 10 days after its official opening, The Star reported.

The council reportedly put up a closure notice at the premises yesterday, citing alleged licensing and premises-use violations.

Authorities reportedly took this action after discovering that the restaurant’s kitchen had extended into a public space.

In an Instagram post, the restaurant said it would remain closed for two days to make the required adjustments and plans to reopen on Aug 26. It also apologised to customers for the disruption.
