The New Straits Times headlined Umno Supreme Council’s decision to accept Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s resignation as a party member but hopes that he will return to the party someday. Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi did not believe that Mahathir’s decision would trigger an exodus of party members.
