Constituency issues

Nurul Izzah elaborates on her plans for the Lembah Pantai constituency where issues like crime and low-cost housing take precedence.

She also gives an update on her service centre, which will open in a week in Pantai Dalam.

Asked about City Hall’s willingness to cooperate with Pakatan Rakyat MPs, Nurul Izzah reveals that the first post-election meeting was marked by “delay, an unwillingness from their part (to cooperate)”.

However, she says ways must be found to work with the authority, which operates on an annual budget of about RM2.2 billion.

Youth activism

Asked to comment a recent claim that the school uniform worn by girls is “sexy”, Nurul counters that there is no need to be condescending.

In speaking about the “segmentised, compartmentalised” culture in universities because of the restrictive Universities and University Colleges Act, she encourages young Malaysians to become involved in active politics.
