Crocodiles have claimed their second victim in Sarawak this month, with the death of a 41-year-old man believed to have been attacked while bathing in a river.

The state Bernama news agency said the remains of Gaid Anak Repun, a construction worker in Sarawak, were found three kilometres from where he disappeared late yesterday.

"We believe that he was attacked by a crocodile, based on the bite marks on his legs and forehead," district police chief Mat Jusoh said.

The incident came after the death on June 2 of a 22-year-old man in Sarawak who had been fishing with friends when a crocodile leapt out and attacked him.

Police said the "mangled" body of Rudy Semion Ng was found two days later.
