Organisers had earlier hoped for a simultaneous protest today in 10 mosques across Selangor ahead of the mammoth rally against the fuel-price hike planned for July 6.

Apart from the State Mosque and Kg Melayu Mosque, other mosques on the list were Hasanah (Bandar Baru Bangi), Simpang Tiga (Gombak), Mujahidin (Damansara Utama), as well as a number of those outside of Kuala Lumpur - Kajang, Sekinchan, Sungai Buloh, Hulu Bernam and Bukit Naga.

It is learnt that no protest took place in both Sekinchan and Kajang as prayers were held to commemorate Pakatan Rakyat’s 100 days in office.

According to Khairul, a total of 10,000 flyers were handed out.

Two opposition representatives were among those helping to publicise the July 6 rally.

Saari Sungib, state assemblyman for Hulu Kelang, distributed leaflets in Simpang Tiga while PJ Selatan parliamentarian Hee Loy Sian did the same in Damansara Utama.

Meanwhile, another protest is planned at the New Pantai Expressway, near the Taman Medan toll booth, at 3pm tomorrow.
