Concerned Rakyat: The allegations, accusations and speculations between Anwar and BN are fast becoming political fiascoes published worldwide. As a Malaysian residing in the Middle East, I find myself lost for words when bombarded by questions on the evolving political situation at home.

What happen to innocent until proven guilty? Why is everyone clamoring to accuse or speculate on who is behind the plot to commit political assassination? Correct me if I am wrong , but isn’t that why we have law and order so that a crime is punishable?

Shouldn’t we put the country’s unity and the rakyat at the forefront of our minds rather than sparring with one another over allegations and speculations. Until it is proven with facts, they are all allegations and speculations.

Since March elections, all I read about Malaysia was current office bearers pointing fingers at alleged historical misconduct by previous officials. Oil and rice prices have increased many folds over the past months but what are our politicians going to do about it? Cry blue murder over political conspiracy it seems.

Lincoln Continental: As they say, politics is not meant for gentlemen. In this latest saga, its only fair to say both sides are no angels, its just tit-for-tat and shrewd tactical moves to counter the other party's impending action.

With the clear writing on the wall, it would be silly for Anwar to sit back and risk being arrested for newly-fangled allegations by the fat cats in power.

While some may sneer that Anwar's action to seek refuge in the Turkish embassy borders on a calculative ploy, we have to admit it has achieved the desired result and has turned the tables against the aggressor.

The choice of Turkish embassy was no doubt carefully selected to mitigate any negative perception of him playing to the Western media, a sensitive topic to the local Malay community.

My accolades to Anwar and his team for their shrewd tactical manoeuver which has put the aggrieved victim in the full glare and focus of the international media and reaped the full benefit of holding back the aggressor from further action.

He now has some breathing space to re-organise his next move and spring a new attack in the days to come. Bravo! If the fat cats are not careful, the checkmate may come very soon.

Chuacj: The fresh accusation against Anwar for sodomy is a blessing in disguise. It shows that the BN is so desperate and can only use the same old trick that they learnt from the previous corrupted leader.

It also shows that Anwar is clean that they have no other way to bring him down. The BN has still not learnt and they keep on assuring the rakyat that they will not get involved in this latest allegation and that and will let the police to do their job.

Please, Umno, we are not stupid. We also know that the police, judiciary and ACA all report to you. And you (Umno) are the root of corruption in Malaysia.

Pakatan Rakyat, we need to be strong. I hope the BN MPs will wake up and do something right for their children’s sake at least. Let us confront this corrupted government together. Long live, PR!

The Anwar case covered the headlines for days and weeks on end with a pliant judiciary having no alternative but to play to the tune of the then Dr M.

Now, we are forced to go through the same rigmarole with BN clinging to the last straw and to a gamut of lies and unfulfilled promises to keep the rakyat at bay.

The Gulf News reports that there is a withdrawal of investments whilst the erstwhile aide of Khairy and Second Finance Minister assures us of economic miracles on the way.

The rakyat both from Pakatan and BN /are not going to take things sitting down whilst the police drag Anwar into custody. The police perhaps fear that his coming into power may see the IPCMC coming into force.

God forbid that this country does not become another Burma or Zimbabwe.

Thequay 007: The politics of Malaysia is full of surprises. Almost everyday we have new happenings which only show the great divide in the political spectrum.

Politicians in this country must accept the fact that it is the rakyat that decides on their fate. They must accept the reality that their political position is not their birth right.

Politicians came and go and no politician in the world can claim to be indispensable. They are just like a normal person. Nothing special about them at all. In fact most of them are more self-centered than a normal person.

On TV3's news, the deputy prime minister was asked about the photo of Saiful with one government officer. The answer was that the Saiful had come to apply for a scholarship.

My curiosity is that if indeed he came for a scholarship interview, then why is the officer obliged to take a photo with him? And who took the photo for them?

Don't tell me that whenever somebody goes for an interview with a government officer, it is the norm that at the end of it, the interviewer and interviewee will end up being photographed together.

The answer given by the DPM smells fishy. Such an answer does not help the DPM at all. His reputation is already in doubt. Certainly my opinion is that he is not fit to be office.

Siti Khatijah: Whilst Malaysians may be in a frenzy about the return of Anwar Ibrahim to politics as they are desperate for change, any kind of change, Malaysia must be careful of this man Anwar.

When he was in public office, he did not make any changes for the people, but he was, in fact, part of a regime that ultimately failed its people.

One cannot now put blind faith in the promise that he will bring about the changes so desperately required for Malaysia.

Whilst the current allegations echo of things of the past and are perhaps laughable, Malaysians must be prudent and cautious in bringing Anwar back to power in that he may sell the country out to powers that have a vested interest.

Malaysians must not be emotional but read the signs and omens to choose wisely. This is crunch time and a time for growing up. No more experimenting with the future generations in terms of those who wield power.

The one chosen must be at the bottom and the people must be at the top for it is a sound injunction in the Qur'an that all are accountable for their actions and deeds on this earth.

Malaysian Haw: It appears that Nazri, the minister in charge of Parliament, has another chance to tell someone - this time the US - to ‘back off’ as he said to a chief minister of India during the Hindraf protest. I am wondering what he is going to do.

Eternal Optimist: For goodness sakes, can the US please stay out of this? What does it mean when they say ‘the US will oppose...’?

Will they invade Malaysia? Will they place economic sanctions on us? What? And why should they care so much?

This drags up memories of accusations of the previous prime minister against Anwar on colluding with the US etc.

If we Malaysians want to be silly about this whole thing, then so be it. But let us also clear it up without the help of ‘Big Brother’.
