BN is open to discussions with any political party interested in contesting the upcoming Malacca state election under its logo, said Umno vice-president Khaled Nordin.
He said any such cooperation would have to comply with BN’s policies and decisions by its top leadership.
“Generally speaking, if any party is prepared to contest using the BN logo, we certainly welcome it. But this is subject to the principal decisions of the leadership,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama.

His remarks come as PAS considers whether to contest the election under the BN logo, amid ongoing negotiations between the two parties.
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang yesterday said the party was open to contesting on a BN ticket.
According to Berita Harian, Hadi said discussions on cooperation and the use of party logos were still ongoing, with PAS weighing whether to use its own logo or BN’s depending on the outcome of negotiations.
“PAS has yet to make a decision, including on the number of seats to contest and the use of logos. Negotiations are ongoing,” he was quoted as saying.
Harapan's own discussions
Meanwhile, Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari (below) said Pakatan Harapan would not interfere in the discussions between PAS and Umno, leaving the two parties to decide on their cooperation.
“I don’t want to interfere in their affairs. Let them make that decision,” he told reporters after launching the Tuaian Anak Harapan Tawas programme at KSL Convention Centre in Klang today.

Asked about the possibility of cooperation between Harapan and Bersatu, Amirudin said discussions were underway.
“We are looking at that possibility. Perhaps within the next week or two, we will be able to see,” he said.
Amirudin described the political landscape as “very fluid”, with parties seeking the best solutions and partners ahead of the election.
He added that Harapan’s election machinery had been preparing for about two months, with its candidates expected to be announced soon.
The 28-seat Malacca state assembly was dissolved on Sept 23. The Election Commission is scheduled to meet on Oct 7 to set key dates for the election, including nomination and polling days.
I hope only PAS will join up with UMNO to win not only Melaka state but the GE16 as well, so that we can see with our own eyes these arrogant extremist ruin the country.
I really hope in the next GE we rakyat Malaysia lasi BN and UMNO kalah teruk teruk. Still very arrogant dan masih tak sedar diri that rakyat dah tolak mereka. The brand name dah busuk but still acting like Big brother.
