English newspapers

All major papers - New Straits Times , The Star and theSun - led with the 10 percent toll discount for night riders and other incentives for road users announced yesterday.

The NST also highlighted the government's move to stop subsidising fuel at petrol stations in the wake of the dip in global crude oil price to US$65 per barrel.

Malay newspapers

Both Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian also led with the toll discount. They also front-paged Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's promise to intervene in the leadership tussle within Wanita Umno.

Tamil newspapers

Tamil Nesan led with a police report lodged by the MIC Youth against a weekly Tamil publication for stating that it was a sin to go to temples.

Malaysia Nanban quoted Kapar member of parliament S Manikavasagam's vow to expose the truth behind the sudden death of popular drama actress K Sujatha in June 2007.

The daily also reported that the Tamil rebel group in Sri Lanka LTTE was ready for a full blown war with the Sri Lankan army.
